Zaffiro
Zaffiro is an advanced, non-surgical thermo-lifting treatment that uses infrared energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin and support collagen renewal. Designed to improve firmness and elasticity, it leaves the skin looking smoother, tighter and more lifted.

Is it right for me?
Who is Zaffiro for?
Zaffiro is ideal for people who are starting to notice that their skin looks less firm or lifted, particularly around the face, neck and décolleté. Its infrared thermo-lifting treatment is designed to improve the appearance of skin laxity and support a smoother, firmer-looking complexion.
It can also be a good option if you’re concerned about fine lines, uneven texture or dull-looking skin, with Smart Hydro exfoliation helping to leave the skin feeling fresh and smooth. The main focus of Zaffiro, though, is skin firmness and a more lifted appearance.
Common concerns
Zaffiro may be right for you if you have:
-
Skin that’s starting to lose firmness
A less taut appearance across the face, neck or décolleté.
-
Mild skin laxity
Skin that looks less firm or defined, particularly around the cheeks, jawline or neck.
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
Lines that are becoming more noticeable as your skin changes over time.

The science
How does Zaffiro works?
Zaffiro brings together two technologies: Smart Hydro water-peeling followed by infrared thermo-lifting. They can be used together or as separate parts of a personalised treatment.
1. Smart Hydro water-peeling
A stream of air and fine water droplets gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin, removing dead cells from the stratum corneum, the skin’s outermost layer. This helps smooth the skin and prepare it to absorb the selected active ingredients.
The solution is chosen to suit the treatment area and concern:
- HA Skin Health – hydration and skin health
- Skin Brightening – dull or uneven-looking skin
- Acne Formula – acne-prone skin
- Soothing Skin Formula – skin needing a gentler, soothing approach
- Hair Nourishment – a scalp and hair solution containing peptides described as growth-factor ingredients
The manufacturer says Smart Hydro exfoliation can help improve the absorption of active ingredients.
2. Infrared thermo-lifting
The therapist first applies a generous layer of treatment gel to the area. This helps the sapphire-glass handpiece maintain good contact with the skin and provides a protective layer during treatment. The handpiece delivers near-infrared energy, creating controlled heat in the deeper dermis. The intended effect is to contract collagen and elastin fibres and stimulate fibroblasts—the cells involved in producing collagen. The sapphire glass helps distribute the energy evenly, while its cooling system helps protect the skin’s surface and reduce the risk of burns.
Before your appointment
Your Zaffiro treatment
Everything you need to know before your appointment.
-
Duration
Appointments start from 45 minutes, depending on the area and number of areas being treated.
-
Recommended frequency
Usually every 4 weeks.
-
Typical course
A course of around 4 treatments is commonly recommended.
-
Treatment area
The face, neck, décolletage and hands.
-
What does it feel like?
Smart Hydro feels like a gentle, cooling water-based facial. During thermolifting, you’ll experience a gradual build-up of warmth as the handpiece moves across your skin. Some areas may feel more sensitive, but the treatment is generally well tolerated.
-
Downtime
Little to no downtime. You may experience temporary redness, warmth or mild sensitivity, but these effects usually settle quickly, allowing you to return to your normal activities.

Post treatment advice
For 24 hours, avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense heat. Protect treated skin from direct sun and use SPF.
Is Zaffiro the same as a red light mask?
No. Red light masks use gentle LED light to support cellular activity and skin rejuvenation without creating a thermal lifting effect.
Zaffiro is a professional medical device designed for skin tightening. Its near-infrared energy reaches up to 4 mm into the skin, creating controlled heat in the deeper dermis. This encourages collagen fibres to contract and stimulates the cells responsible for producing new collagen, helping improve skin firmness and density.
The energy is delivered through a sapphire-glass handpiece with continuous cooling, which helps protect the skin’s surface and reduce discomfort while the deeper tissue is heated. A specialised treatment gel supports contact between the handpiece and skin.
Do you offer anaesthetic before treatment?
Some clinics offer numbing cream for comfort, although the manufacturer states that anaesthetic is not usually required. At Camden’s House, we start with lower energy settings and increase them gradually, adjusting the treatment to your skin’s response and comfort throughout.
What’s the difference between HIFU and Zaffiro?
Both treatments use controlled heat to stimulate collagen and improve skin firmness, but they deliver that energy differently.
HIFU delivers heat in small, focused points at selected depths, while Zaffiro distributes heat more evenly across a broader area of the dermis.
HIFU uses focused ultrasound to create small treatment points at selected depths. Depending on the device, facial treatments can target depths of around 1.5, 3 and 4.5 mm, including deeper tissue layers that support the skin. (device like Ultherapy)
Zaffiro uses near-infrared thermo-lifting to heat a broader area of the dermis, with its brochure describing penetration up to 4 mm. Its sapphire-glass handpiece provides cooling to protect the skin’s surface while the deeper tissue is heated. Zaffiro also incorporates Smart Hydro water-peeling to cleanse and exfoliate, helping improve skin smoothness alongside firmness.
How far ahead of a wedding or special event should I book?
For improvements in skin firmness, we recommend booking a consultation 4–6 months before your event. This allows time for a personalised course and for collagen changes to develop gradually. If your event is sooner, we can discuss what’s realistic and plan your appointments around your skin’s response.
How quickly will I see results?
You may notice smoother, fresher-looking skin and an initial tightening effect straight after treatment—what we call the “Cinderella effect.”
Improvements in firmness develop gradually as new collagen is produced, with further changes over the following weeks and months. Allow around three months to assess the longer-term response. Results vary, and your therapist may recommend a course of treatments.
Can Zaffiro replace a surgical facelift?
No. Zaffiro can improve skin firmness and soften the appearance of fine lines, but it cannot remove excess skin or reposition deeper tissues as surgery does.
It offers a non-invasive option for people seeking gradual improvements in skin quality and mild laxity. Your therapist will help you understand what results are realistic for your skin.
