Who is NuEra for?
NuEra is ideal for people who are starting to notice looser, less firm or crepey skin on the face or body and want to improve skin tightness without surgery or significant downtime. It is especially suited to areas where the skin has lost some of its firmness and definition, such as the jawline, neck, abdomen, arms, thighs or areas above the knees.
Its main strength is skin tightening and collagen remodelling. By using radiofrequency at different depths, NuEra allows us to tailor the treatment to the area and concern, helping to firm the skin, improve texture and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It can also be a good option when skin laxity sits alongside cellulite or small areas of localised fat, but NuEra is particularly valuable when the main goal is to make the skin feel firmer, tighter and more supported.

What is NuEra & how does it work?
NuEra Tight is an advanced medical radiofrequency treatment from Lumenis.
What makes NuEra different is its multi-frequency FocalRF® technology. The system can deliver radiofrequency energy at 470 kHz, 1 MHz, 2 MHz, 4 MHz and 6 MHz, allowing the practitioner to work at different tissue depths rather than treating every concern in the same way.
The radiofrequency energy heats the tissue to a carefully controlled temperature. This thermal response can stimulate collagen remodelling and fibroblast activity, helping the skin become firmer, smoother and more supported over time. Different frequencies and treatment parameters can also be used when the aim is to work more deeply on cellulite or localised areas of fat.
NuEra also uses NuAPIC® intelligent temperature control. The system automatically adjusts the RF power as the tissue warms, then maintains the selected temperature throughout the treatment. This allows the energy to be delivered in a controlled and consistent way while keeping the treatment comfortable.
The frequency, temperature and treatment depth are tailored to the area and concern, which is why NuEra can be used very differently for skin tightening, collagen remodelling, cellulite and body contouring.
NuEra Tight uses five radiofrequency settings to heat tissue at different depths, allowing us to tailor your treatment to the area and concern being addressed.
Lower frequencies reach deeper tissue, while higher frequencies provide more superficial heating.
This flexibility helps us personalise treatments for skin tightening, fine lines, cellulite and localised fat.

What are the contraindications for NuEra?

How should I prepare for NuEra?
NuEra requires very little preparation.
Remove jewellery or other metal from the treatment area. Numbing cream should not be used, as we need you to be able to feel the heat and give feedback throughout the treatment. Lumenis also recommends avoiding treatment directly over injectable fillers or toxins for one month.
What should I do after NuEra?
There is very little aftercare and you can usually return to your normal day straight away.
The treated area may feel warm, with some temporary redness or mild swelling, which usually settles naturally.
For the first 24 hours, it’s best to avoid anything that creates additional heat in the treated area, such as hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and very intense exercise.

When will I see the results?
NuEra results develop gradually. You may notice your skin starting to feel firmer and tighter during your course, with more visible improvements usually becoming noticeable as you progress through the treatments.
A typical NuEra programme is 4–6 treatments, spaced 1–2 weeks apart, ideally weekly. Results continue to develop after the course as collagen remodelling takes place, so the skin may continue to improve over the following weeks and months. Typically you should see results within 3 months.
Can hydration improve my RF results?
Yes. Being well hydrated can help radiofrequency energy travel more efficiently and evenly through the tissue.
Radiofrequency creates a rapidly alternating electrical field, causing charged ions within the tissue fluids to move back and forth. As these ions move through the tissue, they encounter natural electrical resistance, which converts the RF energy into controlled heat — known as resistive or Joule heating.
Because water contains dissolved ions and electrolytes that help conduct electrical energy, well-hydrated tissue generally conducts RF more consistently, helping us achieve a more even and controlled treatment.
